Milly is a beautiful bay and white Paint mare with the confidence, experience, and willing attitude that make a trail horse truly enjoyable. She isn't a mare that needs everything around her to be familiar. New country, wooded trails, country roads, passing cars, and changing surroundings are all things Milly has handled with confidence.
One of the things we really appreciate about Milly is her willingness to go where you point her. She is comfortable riding through the woods and down the road, and she doesn't make a big production out of new sights along the way. She will also ride out alone or with another horse, giving you the freedom to enjoy a quiet solo ride or head out with company.
Under saddle, Milly has a lot to offer. She neck reins easily, has a smooth, comfortable trot, an easy lope, and a nice dependable whoa. She listens well to her rider and is controllable, responsive, and enjoyable to ride.
Milly naturally has a forward walk, which is part of what makes her such a fun trail partner. She isn't a horse you have to constantly encourage to keep moving. She enjoys going somewhere and seeing what's ahead, while still listening to her rider. Because of that natural forward way of going, we feel Milly is best suited for an advanced beginner rider and up rather than someone looking for a very slow, more-whoa-than-go type of horse.
Milly is approximately 14–15 years old and stands around 14.3 hands. She is a handy-sized mare with the experience and confidence to make her an appealing choice for someone who wants a horse to get out and enjoy.
