Pixie came to us quiet and thin — the kind of thin that tells you life hadn’t been very kind to her. At just three years old and standing around 14 hands, this little mare had already learned how to be overlooked. She was all heart but short on groceries, yet even in her rough shape, she was never fearful, wild, or mean — just young and unsure.
With some time, good feed, consistency, and patience, Pixie began to blossom. She filled out beautifully, inside and out. As the weight came on, so did her confidence. Today, Pixie is sweet and affectionate on the ground, easy to handle, and truly enjoys human interaction. In the pasture, she stays submissive and gets along well with others. She hauls like an old pro — quiet to load, unload, and steady on the road.
Update: Pixie is now riding wonderfully — truly exceeding expectations under saddle. While she still isn’t suited for a total beginner or small child, she would be a fantastic partner for an advanced beginner or intermediate rider ready to keep her progressing.
Under saddle, she continues to show the kind of willing, level-headed attitude that makes her special. She’s already gaining real-world experience down the road, handling traffic and new sights with calm curiosity. With a few more miles and a confident hand to guide her, she’s well on her way to becoming an incredible pony with both heart and talent.
