Scarlet is an attractive 14-year-old chestnut Quarter Horse mare standing approximately 15 hands. She has a broad white blaze, a solid ranch-style build, and the look and handling of a mare that has had real riding experience.

She is easy to catch, leads very well, saddles easily, and accepts the bridle like a horse that has done it regularly. Scarlet will stand quietly for mounting, but once you are in the saddle, she is ready to move forward. She is gentle and calm to work around, but she is not lazy or dull. When asked, she will pick up her speed.

Scarlet has been used around roping activities, although we are not advertising her as a finished rope horse. She has been handled and ridden correctly for much of her life and has the feel of a practical ranch-style mare.

Our riding with her has been in the country rather than at a formal arena. She has ridden down the road without giving us trouble and has remained collected and manageable. She willingly loads into a trailer and will stand tied for extended periods.

Scarlet is best suited for an advanced beginner who wants a step up horse. She would not be our first choice for a completely bare bones beginner unless that rider had dependable supervision and instruction.

She is currently sound, in good general health, and has a current Coggins. She is not registered.

Scarlet belonged to a client, and we are acting as agents in helping place her. She was used as a ranch-style horse but did not fit the last owner’s particular needs. This horse can be held while you make arrangements and viewing. Please call 936-222-8221 for more information.
