Benny came to us through a sheriff-assisted neglect case earlier this year. When he arrived, he was in rough shape, carrying the physical effects of long-term neglect. His feet required immediate farrier intervention, his teeth needed extensive work, and he was significantly underweight.

Fast forward to today, and Benny has made remarkable progress.

He has been seen by both our veterinarian and farrier, received dental care, deworming, and ongoing nutritional support. His feet continue to improve with regular maintenance, his coat has transformed, and most importantly, Benny has rediscovered what it means to simply be a horse.

Standing approximately 14.1 hands tall and estimated to be 18-19 years old, Benny is a kind, steady gelding who enjoys attention and has been easy to handle throughout his rehabilitation. He hauls well, stands for care, and has been a pleasure to work around.

At this time, Benny is still gaining weight. While we believe he will likely return to riding once he finishes filling out and conditioning, we have chosen not to ride him yet because we want him to continue building strength and body condition first. Because of this, he is being offered as a rehabilitation success story and future riding prospect rather than a currently rideable horse.

Benny would be an excellent fit for someone looking for a gentle horse to continue bringing along, a companion horse, or a person who appreciates giving a deserving horse the next chapter he has worked so hard to earn.
