Hawk is a 16-year-old Quarter Horse gelding standing around 15 hands, and he is the definition of safe, seasoned, and dependable. This grulla gelding not only has the looks and build, but the kind of mind that makes him truly stand out.
He comes straight off a ranch in Oklahoma, where he’s seen long days and real work. Since being with us, Hawk has stepped right into a lesson program and has been nothing short of exceptional. He has proven himself time and time again to be incredibly safe, patient, and forgiving—no matter who is on his back.
Hawk is the kind you can trust with just about anyone. He has been ridden by beginners and kids, and he handles it all without a fuss. He puts up with the typical rider mistakes and antics without getting bothered—unbalanced riders, bouncing, pulling on the reins—you name it, he just quietly goes along and takes care of his rider.
On the ground, he is just as solid. He loads easily, stands tied quietly, picks up all four feet, and has excellent manners. He is not spooky and stays level-headed in new environments.
Under saddle, Hawk neck reins, rides soft, and stays consistent every ride. You can keep it as simple as you want—hop on bareback with a string and he will still go around the same. He is truly a “get on and go” type that gives his rider confidence every step of the way.
